AMARILLO, TEXAS -- From a house on N. Madison in 1960 to the Globe News Center 50 years later, the St. John Baptist church family gathered to celebrate 50 years of praise.
With more than 200 in attendance Rev. Charles Winton, the key note speaker, gave thanks for the long history of the church that started in the home of a husband and wife.
With this being such a big occasion the church even flew in a gospel artist from South Carolina to perform and speak.
"Brother Keith flew me in to be a part of their 50th anniversary of St. John Baptist church, so i'm just excited to be a part of it." Said Gospel Artist, Blanche McAllister-Dykes.
The Tascosa High School Choir and Ramone Diggs also performed at the free celebration event.
