AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Mark Twain's work has been read and seen for more than a century and when he died everyone thought that was the last they'd ever see of his writing.
But the play titled "Is He Dead" surfaced in 2003 and then made its Broadway debut in 2007. And now that play has made its way to Amarillo.
This comedy is a burlesque and social satire that relies on mistaken identities and romantic deceptions to tell its story. Some would day this comedy is ahead of its time...
"The jokes and some of the scenarios that he writes in this show are very cotemporary modern day especially the jokes, Mark Twain was ahead of his time with this show," said Jeff Jarnagin, director of "is He Dead."
The play will open December 2-12 at the Amarillo Little Theatre.
