AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Another week will bring more road construction throughout the Texas Panhandle.

Around Amarillo, work will continue on Loop 335, the loop will be down to one lane in each direction from Hillside to 81st street.

The Texas Department of Transportation also said traffic will be down to one lane in each direction at the curve near the intersection of Soncy and Hollywood.

Work on the new Grand Street overpass continues as well, the northbound lanes on the east-side of the roadway will be closed. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on the two west-side lanes from about a half mile south of 3rd to a half mile north of 3rd street. This project is not expected to be complete until March of 2012, traffic delays should be expected in this area.

Also, if your heading south, keep in mind the Rockwell Bridge is closed, drivers are being asked to use farm-to-market road 2219 to access Rockwell Road. That reconstruction project is scheduled for completion in June of 2011.

Expect delays and road work in the following locations as well:

·On the IH-27 frontage roads, expect continued lane closures at various intersections between Hollywood Street and Buffalo Stadium for patching.

·On IH-40, expect continued lane closures in both directions from the US 287 split to the Carson County line for fog sealing.

·On IH-40, expect lane closures at the intersections at Eastern, Whitaker, and Lakeside Streets for pavement marking.

TXDOT reminds all motorist these projects are subject to change because of the weather, emergency work and other unexpected events.
