AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Needy families and their children staying at the Family Lighthouse, with Faith City Ministries, received a Christmas surprise this morning.

13 kids received bicycles and other presents with donations made from individuals and businesses in the local community.

Faith City Board Member, Cari Roach, says that even those who don't expect much, deserve just as much.

"In the position they're in they don't have a lot of hope, and their expectations are very low. So, it's just a real blessing to get a bring to them and a surprise, and to see the joy on their faces."

One of the Family Lighthouse recipients says they are truly blessed.

"Well Christmas isn't really all about gifts. I could have woke up this morning and I'm just happy to have my family, but I do thank God for them. They give us all these gifts and presents, and they just they spoil my daughter like crazy," said Lon Smith, Family Lighthouse parent.

Along with the bikes, kids were also given safety helmets, an additional toy they got to pick, clothes and books, and locks for their bikes.
