A man convicted of a 2008 murder is headed to jail. Emanuel Vasquez was arrested earlier this year, for the death of 18-year-old Andrew Santos.

Santos died after his car was rammed at the Amarillo Credit Federal Union, in March of 2008.

Police in El Paso arrested Vasquez in February this year. He took a plea bargain, for 40 years for the the murder and 20 years for aggravated assault, and must serve 20 years before he will be eligible for parole.

ProNews 7 is at a press conference regarding this plea bargain and will update the story with new information.

In October of 2006, Santos along with a friend rescued 94-year-old Vivian Thomas from her home after an explosion left her trapped underneath a pile of rubble. In November that same year Santos and Alex Ballin were honored with the Citizen Heroism Award for their brave actions.
