If you plan on hitting the roads today, be careful. The cold weather and precipitation has led the Texas Department of Transportation to issue several travel advisories.
Travel on I-27 between Amarillo and Lubbock in both directions is discouraged because of black ice on roadways and bridges.
There are reports of snow and ice on U.S. 287 from Amarillo to Wichita Falls, so be on the lookout for both. TxDOT is patrolling and plowing where necessary on 287. If you're going further south than Wichita Falls, there are advisories for freezing rain, heavy snow, and slick roads. Travel is discouraged in Montague and Wichita counties specifically.
On I-40 in Carson and Gray counties TxDOT is warning drivers to be extra cautious because of ice on the road.
