Colorado Sen. Suzanne Williams will be speaking to the media for the first time since a fatal crash on December 26, that killed an Amarillo woman.
She is expected to speak in the next hour, we will update the story once the conference ends with additional information.
As of right now, no charges have been filed in the deadly wreck that happened near Channing, here in the Texas Panhandle, that killed Brianna Gomez.
A preliminary report detailing the crash revealed that the senator put her 3-year-old grandson back in his car seat after he was ejected from the vehicle. The senator who has pushed for tough child restraints in her state, had her two grandsons ages 3 and 7, and her adult son in her vehicle, all were unrestrained.
The preliminary report released by the Texas Department of Public Safety also said Williams drove onto the wrong side of the road directly toward the Gomez family. The two vehicles collided head-on.
Brianna who was seven months pregnant was killed, and doctors delivered her premature son, Curran Gomez, at last check he was still in critical condition.
