CLOVIS, NEW MEXICO -- Warm days and little rain mean the winter wheat crop in eastern New Mexico's Roosevelt and Curry counties is in jeopardy.
Farmers in the area say that two months into the growing season the crop has suffered badly. If rain doesn't arrive soon, much of the crop may fail.
Curry County commissioner and wheat farmer Frank Blackburn says he's never seen such a dry season in his 60 years in the county. But he says there's still plenty of time for rain to help the crop recover.
