UPDATE:

With Super Bowl Sunday slowly creeping up on us next weekend, what happens if the Dallas/Ft.Worth area gets hit with a snowstorm?

The state has a plan in place to provide extra help with road maintenance just in case.

It's part of the TxDot "one-dot" program.

Our local TxDot office will deploy 16 vehicles and 40 employees if the metroplex needs the help.

But then, what happens if the Panhandle gets hit with a winter storm?

"We have agreements with other districts like Childress and Lubbock and as far away as Abilene to help augment those folks to help us out in case we get a winter weather event at the same time, so we're not going to be left short in the Panhandle," said Paul Braun, TxDot Spokesman.

Braun tells us situations like this come up all the time, but it's a lot easier to plan for something like the Super Bowl, because we know the date so far in advance.

AMARILLO, TX Some folks from the Panhandle are gearing up to support the Superbowl in Arlington. Pronews 7's Matt Hamilton will tell what local assets are preparing to head to the Dallas area to make sure that the tens of thousands of people coming to Texas for the big game have an easy time while they're here.
