AMARILLO, TEXAS -- This wintry weather has been causing different problems all across the panhandle, the biggest problem being frozen pipes.
But how much damage can be done and what is the solution?
If you don't catch it soon enough then there could be unexpected damage.
But there is one simple solution other than to just turn the water off.
"If they are frozen right now and no water is coming out the only thing you can do is get heat to them or just wait," said Bobby Hollabaugh, Owner H & H Plumbing.
But how do you know if your pipe has busted?
"Once a pipe bursts you don't have to look very hard, it'll either start making a lot of noise or floors and ceilings will get wet."
Local residents have been dealing with this problem all over town, one local resident took the time to tell us about her experience.
"It was about 2 to 3 inches of water and you had to wade and it's up into the hall and it's in the carpet and everywhere," said Dina Hill, Local Amarillo Resident.
Hopefully there is some warm weather headed our way to help with this wide spread issue.
Hollabaugh went on to say that as long as the pipes are frozen there won't be any damage.
But if it doesn begin to thaw out, then you need to turn the water off at the valve or the water meter.
