AMARILLO, TEXAS -- With Amarillo and Canyon ISD cancelling classes and many businesses closing their doors Wednesday because of the snow, a lot of families took advantage of the free time to have a fun snow day. Families packed Medi-Park to spend some quality together time, sledding up and down the hills, with the sound of laughter filling the air.
"We're just spending the day just enjoying the free time and the fresh snow," said Angie Logan, Mother that took her kids to the park.
"Sometimes when there's a lot of snow we just have little hills by our house. So sometimes we come to big hills, and just come sledding down," said Trent Logan, 1st grader enjoying his snow day.
Even the big drifts of snow couldn't stop the Logan family from having fun.
"This is where we usually come whenever there is snow because of the hills so we made it out early after digging ourselves out," said Angie.
From making snow angels, to exhausting themselves sledding down the hill and climbing up, a lot of kids say they're not looking forward to going back to school.
"You don't get to have a lot of in snow when you're in a building," said Shayla Logan, 9th grader enjoying snow day. How have you been spending your day? Did you work or play? Leave us a comment below.
