AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Tuesday evening, a man was robbed at gun point while sitting in his car waiting for his wife to get off work. Police were called to the 400 block of S. Austin on the robbery.

The victim told the officers he was sitting in his vehicle when a black man approached him pointed a gun at his head and demanded money. The victim gave the suspect what money he had and the man took off running down a nearby alley.

Police quickly set up a perimeter around a house in the 2100 block of West 4th. They asked the homeowner for consent to search the home for any possible suspect, permission was granted. Police found 18-year-old Alex Brown of Amarillo hiding in the attic. Police also found the gun used in the robbery inside the home. Brown was positively identified by the victim and was booked into the Potter County Detention Center.
