PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A five-year-old murdered is a story tragic enough in itself. Now imagine the five-year-old's murderer being released early for good behavior.

That's exactly what could happen in Providence, R.I. and the five-year-old's father is saying he will kill the neighbor who was convicted of his son's murder if he is released, the Associated Press reports.

It was back in 1975 when Jason Foreman, 5, was slain by Michael Woodmansee. After the boy's death, Woodmansee hid the shallacked bones in his house for years. In 1983, he confessed and was convicted of second-degree murder. He was sentenced to 40 years in prison back in 1982 but a plea deal allows him to be released for good behavior.

Woodmansee is eligible for release in August, according to the Providence Journal. Foreman's father, John Foreman said Monday on WPRO-AM that if Woodmansee is released he intends to kill him just as aggressively and painfully as his son was killed.

Foreman claims a journal was kept by Woodmansee and he explained that after reading it, he only remembered one line and that was how Woodmansee ate his son's flesh.

"I do intend, if this man is released or if I can find him after the fact, I do intend to kill this man," Foreman told WPRO-AM.

Woodmansee is eligible for early release because of a longstanding law from 1872 that lets Woodmansee earn up to 10 days off his sentence for each month he behaved, the Department of Corrections said. The last time that law was significantly changed was in 1960.

Additionally, Woodmansee has a job in prison making him eligible to receive up to two additional days per month off his sentence for months he worked at least 15 days.

This story is causing outrage across the country and Pronews 7 wants to know what you think. Should Woodmansee be released early for good behvior? Comment below and tell us your thoughts!
