118 lbs. of marijuana found in semi on I-40

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Nearly half a million dollars in marijuana was uncovered by troopers inside a semi-truck Sunday afternoon.

According to the Department of Public Safety, Troopers stopped a 2000 Freightliner semi-truck for a Department of Transportation inspection near Amarillo. After receiving permission to search the truck, troopers found 91 bundles of hydroponic marijuana weighing 118 pounds and estimated at $413,000.

Yuniesky Reyes, 32 and Carlos Ibanez, 40 both of Miami, Fla., were arrested at the scene. Where the drugs came from or where they were going is unknown at this time.
