PREVIOUSLY: (AP) The U.S. Census Bureau will be releasing the 2010 census details for New Mexico this afternoon. The information released will include summaries of population totals by county and cities, as well as data on race and ethnicity. Early Census Bureau numbers released in December show New Mexico's population grew to more than 2 million over the last decade. The 2010 census found New Mexico's population increased by 13.2 percent over the 2000 count. However, the growth rate over the past decade was slower than it has been historically, and was one of the lowest in state history. New Mexico saw a 20.1 percent population increase from 1990 to 2000. Its population grew 16.3 percent from 1980 to 1990 and 28.2 percent from 1970 to 1980.
Pronews 7 will of course break down the latest figures when the Census Bureau releases those this afternoon. Keep refreshing this page for updates.
