Grassfires spark up around the Panhandle

Potter County
Officials repsonded to a grassfie near the Loop and the Cliffside area.
Wheeler County
Fire departments from Wheeler, Briscoe, Allison, Kelton and Mobeetie all responded to a grassfire in Wheeler County.
The fire has now been contained and 165 acres of farmland burned. No structures were harmed.
The Wheeler Times reports that the blaze began at the intersection of County Road 16 and M. Crews are still working hotspots in the area. When the fire moved into plowed ground, firefighters were able to get it under control. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Ochiltree County
Officials are reporting the fire just south of Perryton on Highway 83 is now out.
