AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Walls are going up to a new home in Amarillo, but we're not talking about just any home -- it's a place for second chances.
Martha's Home provides transitional housing and support for homeless women and their children.
"We have Martha's Home one, two, three and this will be our fourth home. This is the one that will house four additional families -- it'll be four women with children and this will be our fourth home on this street," said Judy Stark, Martha's Home Board President.
The new home is expected to be completed in about a month.
"People meet with unfortunate circumstances for a variety of reasons and they can be successful. They just need somebody behind them to give them an opportunity to start over, encourage them and give them a faith based opportunity,"
Stark says Martha's Home receives about a hundred applications from needy moms a month.
