CANYON, TEXAS -- West Texas A&M University will not be raising their tuition again, but they are unsure, however, if all of the financial assistance they've offered before in the past will still be available.
Due to major cuts, educational institutions across the state are still waiting for legislators to give their final decisions regarding federal and state financial aid programs.
"We've gone ahead and awarded our Pell grants and direct loans. A lot of the students can't see all the other aid yet because we're not releasing it yet until we know for sure," said Marian Giesecke, WTAMU Financial Aid Assistant Director.
In the meantime WT officials will continue to monitor legislative funding decision, and will keep students posted through email.
Thousands of letters have already been sent out notifying students of the current situation.
The following programs that are still pending legislative decisions are -- the TEXAS Grant, the Top 10% Scholarship and the B-on-Time Loan.
