AMARILLO, TEXAS -- If you're headed out of town on I-40, you can more than likely expect some delays.

That's because, starting today, TxDOT will be paving I-40 in both directions from Loop 335 (soncy) to the Oldham County line.

According to TxDOT, one lane for a stretch of five miles will be closed at a time. As a result, traffic will be down to one lane.

This project is expected to be completed by mid-June and motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention.
