AMARILLO, TEXAS -- It's that time of year again for Walk MS.
This year's walk is offering something new for everyone. The annual Walk MS is this Saturday, April 16, at Caprock High School. Registration starts at 8:30am, and the walk begins at 10:00am.
500 people are expected to participate in the walk. Besides the walk, there will vendor expos, a silent auction, an "Ask the Expert" forum and the MS experience, which is for people who don't have MS but who are interested in experiencing it's symptoms. There's no entry fee for the walk, but you're asked to make a pledge of anything you like.
"No matter what your focus is, whether you're hoping to find a cure or hoping to help someone who has MS today we have the capabilities to help make all those happen thanks to our events like Walk MS," said April Brownlee of the MS Society.
There will also be a Wall of Hope, which has different facts about MS.
"One of the most startling statistic I think is that it cost an average $70,000 per person, per year to have MS. It's one of the the most expensive diseases you can have," said Brownlee.
