AMARILLO -- If you've driven down Georgia, you may have noticed a power pole severely damaged.
Good news, it will soon be fixed.
Bad news, you may experience some traffic delays while it's being fixed.
Xcel Energy says it along with cable crews will be working at the intersection of 34th and Georgia Thursday to replace a power pole that was damaged several weeks ago. The pole was damaged by a truck accident.
The pole will be changed out while the lines remain charged, Xcel said. It plans to have four, three-man crews working in the area with large boom trucks holding up the lines while a new pole is set in place. The pole carries 12 lines running north-south and east west and supports phone and cable lines.
Work on replacing the pole will be from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Southbound Georgia traffic and eastbound 34th Avenue traffic will be detoured at this time.
