ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Former University of New Mexico assistant football coach J.B. Gerald has refiled his lawsuit against the school.
The Albuquerque Journal reports the amended complaint accuses head coach Mike Locksley, athletic director Paul Krebs and UNM of subjecting him to a hostile work environment.
The suit stems from a September 2009 incident in which Gerald claims Locksley punched and choked him in the locker room. A judge last week dismissed his original lawsuit, which alleged assault, battery, retaliation and racial discrimination.
Locksley has said he only grabbed Gerald's collar during a heated argument with his then-wide receivers coach.
Gerald is seeking compensatory and punitive damages, saying the work atmosphere was so hostile and intimidating he was forced to leave his job.
