FARMINGTON, NEW MEXICO (AP) -- The water coming out of some Farmington taps looks yellow. But city officials say it's nothing to worry about.

The Public Works Department says the city is in the process of replacing aging water lines all over town, some more than 50 years old.

Replacing water pipes can lead to some sediment being dislodged and that's why some residents are seeing yellow.

The Farmington Daily Times reports the city has been replacing old water lines for the last few months, but this is the first time residents have reported yellow and sediment-laden water.

Those who don't like the look of their water can call the city and have their lines flushed for free.
