Update Thursday 9:40a
The Wheeler County fire is out. Pronews 7 has confirmed the fire burned about 1000 acres.

No injuries were reported and no structures were damaged. Officials say it appears that downed power lines caused the blaze.

This fire is now 80 percent contained, the Wheeler County Volunteer Fire Department tells Pronews 7.

It started Wednesday afternoon just west of Wheller and burned south toward the city. It has now burned about five miles of land, officials said. They are not away of any structures burned or anyone injured.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
