Has Facebook gotten even creepier?

So here's how it works: Facebook will offer "Tag Suggestions" that use the facial recognition technology in hopes that it will speed up the process of formally tagging someone.

This new feature is causing many people to be concerned about their privacy because Facebook users are reporting that the feature has rolled out in the last few days without any notice.

It was last December that the social media giant announced that it planned to introduce the face detection technology,Reuters reported. Facebook announced Tuesday that the feature is now more widely available.

As for photos that already exist on your Facebook profile, they won't be included in this new system. It only applies to new photos that are added.

Additionally, users have the option to disable the feature in their privacy settings.
