SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - New Mexico's Water Quality Control Commission has two new members.
Gov. Susana Martinez has appointed Orville "Hoyt" Pattison of Clovis and Edward Clah of Gallup to serve on the panel.
Pattison is a former state representative and president of both the Antelope Ridge Wind Farm and an engineering company. He is also the manager, operator and owner of Pattison Farms.
Clah works for Chevron Mining in Questa as the operations and general mine manager.
The commission is responsible for adopting water quality standards and regulations aimed at preventing pollution. It also administers loans and grants for water projects, and citizens can petition the commission for protection of certain waterways or other changes in state water law.
