SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) -- Firefighters are working on building fire line on the western and eastern flanks of a blaze burning in wilderness north of Santa Fe.

More hot and dry weather is expected Wednesday afternoon, and the wind is not likely to gust like it did when the fire was first sparked last Saturday. The wind had initially fanned the flames, resulting in a large column of smoke over Santa Fe.

Crews have contained 5 percent of the nearly 5,000-acre fire.

The cause is under investigation, and the Santa Fe National Forest is asking for the public's help.

Forest managers are requesting calls from anyone having knowledge of the fire or having been in the area north of Aspen Ranch by the Borrego Trail between June 17 and June 18.
