The Childress County Constable and the last elected police chief in Childress passed away Monday. His services are scheduled for Thursday.

Billy Don Hinton, Sr., passed away at Baptist St. Anthony Hospital in Amarillo. He was elected Chief of Police in May 2003 and then served as a reserve for the Childress Sheriff's Office until being elected constable in 2005.

Services are set for Thursday at 2 in the afternoon at First Baptist Church in Childress (300 Avenue C NW).
