AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Amarillo Police are investigating the death of a male in the 1500 block of Jefferson.

Police say the body is of a man who is in his early 40s. At this time, police don't know how the man died but it is being investigated as a homicide.

The body was found around 1:45 Tuesday morning by family members who had gone to check up on the man. He was found in an upstairs apartment.

According to police on scene, the body will be sent to Lubbock for an autopsy.
