iPhone make you itch like a crackhead?

You're at dinner. You hear your phone vibrate.

It's the dilemma many of us face almost every day... Do we get out our phone and look at it? Do we give in to the vibrations and alerts just to check our Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus or email?

Do you make up excuses just to check your phone so you won't seem rude?

Those are all questions you may be facing. A new study even went as far to say that when people are cut off from the internet, it is described as a digital detox similar to that of quitting drinking or smoking.

The British study surveyed 100 people after cutting them off from the Internet for 24 hours. 53 percent reported feeling "upset" from being deprived of online access. 40 percent said they felt lonely. One participant even compared to having his hand chopped off, according to TechCrunch.

Also in the study, younger people had the most difficulty since they are the ones usually more connected to social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. People older than 40 coped more easily.

It was in April when a University of Maryland study found the same conclusion of technology being like a crackhead addiction.

While any form of addition is usually classified as unhealthy, using technology does not have the substantial adverse affects that smoking does.
