OCHILTREE COUNTY, TEXAS -- Two people were killed Wednesday afternoon 15 miles south of Perryton in a single vehicle crash.

Officials say the accident happened on US 83 in a construction zone. A 2006 Ford pickup was traveling northbound when it slid off the northeast side of the highway and rolled down an embankment. The truck came to a rest on its roof and the passenger was ejected from the vehicle.

Jorse Melendez, 55, and Jose Melendez Rocha, 59, both of Perryton were pronounced dead. 49-year-old Raul Anchondo was airlifted to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo in critical condition.
