$100,000 in meth seized in I-40 traffic stop

CARSON COUNTY, TEXAS -- A traffic stop on I-40 three miles east of Conway netted more than $100,000 in meth.

According to the Department of Public Safety, troopers stopped a 2001 Jaguar and asked to search the vehicle. A search was granted and 2.7 lbs. of methamphetamine was found.

It is valued at $102,660. The meth was found inside an altered car battery. It was reportedly being transported from Las Vegas to Oklahoma City.

The driver, Jeidy E. Villegas, 27 and passenger Jose E. Baleas, 26, were both arrested for posession of a controlled substance, a first degree felony.
