AMARILLO, TEXAS -- If you've got an eye for art, you might want to take a peek at the Amarillo Museum of Art's most recent exhibit.

A new show of paintings was put on display Friday as part of the the museum's National Juried Biennial Figurative Painting Exhibition. More than 45 paintings are in the show and will remain on display through October 23.

Some local artists are featured in this show -- one winning "Best In Show" -- but the exhibit also highlights artwork from artists across the country.

"We really enjoy highlighting local talent here but we also think it's really important to bring in things that are relevant outside of the Panhandle, outside of Amarillo. We think it's really important to bring those kinds of things in and see how, what we can bring in is again, representative of what's going on here but may be a little bit different than what you might find anywhere else in the country", said the museum's Public Programs Coordinator, Deana Craighead.

The show is free and open to the public.

The museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 10-5 and from 1-5 on Saturday and Sunday.
