$225,000 in meth seized on I-40

CONWAY, TEXAS -- Nearly a quarter of a million dollars in meth was seized by Troopers on I-40 in Carson County Monday afternoon.

According to the Department of Public Safety, a Trooper stopped a Volkswagen Jetta just after 12:30 p.m. Monday one mile west of Conway on Interstate 40.

Consent to search the vehicle was granted and yielded 1,407 grams of methamphetamine. It was found concealed inside the car's frame.

DPS says the meth was being transported from Los Angeles to Winter Haven, Fla. It was valued at $225,120.

Pablo Gonzales, 23, the driver and passenger Martina Trevino, 27, both of Winter Haven were booked into the Carson County Jail on the first degree felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.
