AMARILLO, TEXAS -- A teddy bear is usually associated with childhood and comfort in the time of need. A new teddy bear Scentsy Buddy is now on sale that will do just that for some local kids. Sasha is the first charitable cause Scentsy Buddy that supports the mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Jan Reid, Executive Director for Ronald McDonald House said "In 2010, we served over 260 area families who needed a place to stay and our volunteers are in the hospitals twice a week sharing a toy or stuffed animal to help a child smile. Shasa the Bear will make a great addition to this effort."
The $30 brown bear comes with your choice of Scent Pak. Independent consultant Liz Larson said, "Sasha is available from September 2010 through February 2012. There is no limit to how much can be raised!"
The best part... 100 percent of the net proceeds will go to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
A couple of Amarillo Scentsy consultants have teamed up to help get the local community involved, by offering to deliver bears that are purchased to kids at the Ronald McDonald House in town.
"We want to give people the option to buy Sasha and pick out a kid friendly scent. Then we will donate the bears around the holidays. It's a win-win situation, the money goes to a great organization and local kids get a bear." said Amarillo consultant, Amy Presley.
Dawn Larson, Independent Scentsy Star Consultant agrees. "Not only will we be helping at a National level, we all have the option to help on a local, more personal level."
Presley said customers can donate the bears anonymously, or she will take a picture of a child with the donated bear and post them to her website. "That way people can see where their donation went." Presley said.
