An Oklahoma man was killed Tuesday evening in a two-vehicle crash 12 miles east of Wheeler.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety, a Pampa man was driving eastbound on State Highway 152 in a 2006 Peterbuilt semi-truck. 28-year-old Trinity Lawrence of Coalgate, Okla. was westbound in a 2005 Mack semi-truck. Troopers say Lawrence turned left in front of the Peterbuilt semi.

That's when the Peterbuilt semi corrected to the right to try avoiding Lawrence. The Peterbuilt struck Lawrence's truck on the right side. It then jack-knifed and ejected Lawrence.

The Peterbuilt semi overturned and slid on its side catching fire, troopers said. He was able to esape safely.

Lawrence was pronounced dead on scene. Troopers say he did not have his seat belt on.
