Are our superstitions real, or do we as people make them real?
According to Herald Citizen, Kelly Schaffer, 44, of Cookeville, TN may be asking her self that very question. She was driving her 1999 GMC pickup westbound on Wilhite Avenue when a black cat ran across the road.
Schaffer proceeds to use her finger to mark an "X" on her windshield appease her superstition. While doing so, her pickup ran off the road, crossing a residential yard, then came back onto an adjacent road, heading into oncoming traffic.
Edgar Sorenson was driving eastbound on E. Hudgens Street when Schaffers vehicle stuck his in a head-on collision.
After being taken to the hospital, Schaffer was charged with having no driver's license and no insurance. The investigation into the case continues.
