AMARILLO, TEXAS -- All this week, celebrations have been happening at the Chase Tower in downtown Amarillo as it commemerates 40 years of service.
Friday, every one gathered in the lobby enjoyed cake-- but not just any cake. They were three different cakes, all depicting the Chase Tower.
Beth Duke with Center City, said it's staggering when you think about the people that go through the building on a day-to-day basis.
"We have 1,200 people in and out everyday," said Duke. "1,200 WT students, bookstore, coffee shop, So what I think makes it great is...the (population of the) buidling is bigger than some of our small towns."
They finished out the celebration with a cycle race which included 40 laps around the building.
