A 20-year-old man was killed Sunday evening while he was riding a bicycle six miles south of Tulia.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety, Aaron Kyle Ross, 20, of Tulia,, was riding northbound on US 87 in the outside lane just south of County Road 8 around 3:45 Sunday afternoon.

Ross was struck from behind with the center front of a 2003 Chevrolet Avalance, driven by Adeline Chapa Cruz of Tulia, DPS said.

He was transported to a Lubbock hospital and later died.

The crash investigation continues. Ross was wearing his helmet.
