Police in Clovis continue to investigate the single-vehicle collision that killed a man when running into a tree.

According to Clovis Police, Hector Cordova-Urbina was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. Police said a Mercury Sable impacted a large tree head-on early Sunday afternoon.

The investigation continues but police said excessive speed is a factor in the crash and no indication of alcohol or drug intoxication has been found. Cordova may have a medical condition which attributed to the cause, police added.

Cordova's family is being sought with the help of the Mexican Consulate in Albuquerque.
