AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Just when you thought you couldn't escape all the Halloween costumes, a few kids at St. Mary's Catholic School decided to be saints this year instead of spooks.

As part of their annual tradition, St. Mary's celebrated All Saints Day one day early and on Monday, their kindergarten class dressed up as saints. During Monday's Mass, 32 five and six year-olds marched down the middle aisle each representing a different saint, from Mother Teresa to St. Michael the Arch Angel.

"Children learn best through their learning styles so dressing up gives them a tactual learning style," said St. Mary's Kindergarten teacher Elainn Scott. "So when they remember that costume that they were in, maybe what they were carrying with them, it puts it into their brain in a way that they will remember it for years to come."

In the weeks leading up to Monday's celebration, the students chose a saint and spent time learning about their lives and what made them Holy.
