AMARILLO, TEXAS -- If you're needing a little helping paying your utility bills, Panhandle Community Services says they're here to help.
After getting $700,000 of additional funds for their utilities assistance program, PCS began taking clients at 6:30 Thursday morning. By 8:0, they'd already served more than eighty families. That little extra help and saving a few bucks couldn't have come at a better time for some local citizens.
"This is a good time of year because we're coming upon the holidays," said one Amarillo citizen receiving assistance, Jason Srader. "We really need the help, you know, so I mean it'll really be beneficial to me too, to help my bills."
If you want to qualify for assistance, just take proof of income, your current gas and electric bills and social security numbers to the local PCS office at 1309 W. 8th.
