AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The Amarillo Chamber of Commerce celebrated its Annual Christmas Luncheon today with the Women's Council.

Some 160 members of the Women's Council attended the luncheon today to announce their chosen children's charity for this year as well as their Business Woman of the Year. This year, Amarillo Area CASA  was chosen for the council's charity. They also announced business woman, Freda Powell, as their Business Woman of the Year.

"Women have historically been under-paid and under-promoted in the work force," said Women's Council Chair, Sonja Gross. "We provide that support, we're there to help people up and be there for them and work through the challenges that women face as business women out there in the community."
