AMARILLO, TEXAS -- It's time again for the High Plains Food Bank annual "Together We Can Holiday Food Drive" at Market Street.
The food bank braved the cold Monday and will be there until Friday collecting food and monetary donations from 8a.m.- 10p.m. every day, and this year is the first year the whole Panhandle has been able to get involved because of a new online donation system.
"We aren't the Amarillo food bank, we're the High Plains Food Bank and so it's the whole panhandle and 54% of our distribution is to those other 27 counties outside of Potter and Randall county, so it's really great to see them be able to participate and help us," said Executive Director, Broc Carter.
Carter said they took a big hit on donations because of monday's weather, and they could use some help to reach their one-hundred twenty-thousand pound goal.
