AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Christmas keeps getting closer and closer, it's just 17 days away now, but the Salvation Army Angel Tree Project is still in need of toys for certain age groups.
Many of their angels have been adopted, but there are some emergency families who were placed on the tree this morning at Westgate Mall, and they need toys for older children ages ten and up, especially for girls.
You know, without the Angel Tree, these kids may not have a Christmas at all.
"So many families have lost their jobs or have situations where they just cannot afford to spend any extra money this year on christmas gifts, so they've come to us saying this is the only way their children are going to get gifts this year," said Salvation Army Major, Cheryl Grider.
If you would like to donate to the Angel Tree Project, you can rush over to Westgate Mall and grab one of the angels that were added recently, or you can donate at the Salvation Army at 400 S. Harrison.
