AMARILLO, TEXAS -- A 71-year-old pedestrian is in life-threatening condition after police say she walked out in front of a car on Amarillo Boulevard Wednesday night.

The pedestrian, identified as Rosa Bustos of Amarillo, walked in front of an east bound Chevrolet four-door sedan at about 10:00 Wednesday night in the 2800 block of East Amarillo Boulevard, police said.

According to police, alcohol was a factor for Bustos, the pedestrian.

As for the driver of the Chevrolet car, she was not injured.

Amarillo Police Traffic Investigations Division is continuing its investigation.
