An Amarillo man was killed Tuesday evening after his pickup crashed south of Amarillo.

Texas Department of Public Safety said Harold Z. Henderson, 35, of Amarillo was driving a 2007 GMC pickup about 10 miles south of Amarillo on FM 1258 at about 10:00 Tuesday evening.

DPS said Henderson was approaching a curve in the road while traveling northbound when the vehicle continued straight and left the roadway to the west.

The pickup then overcorrected to the east and back again to the west causing it to overturn several times, DPS said. According to DPS, the pickup also vaulted over a pipe fence.

Henderson was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the pickup, DPS said.

He was pronounced dead on scene. Investigation continues in this crash.
