AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Texas Panhandle Pet Savers has pets up for adoption Thursdays through Saturdays at Pets Plus off of 34th and Georgia.

The cats and dogs up for adoption are pulled from the euthanasia lists at the Humane Society and Animal Control.

For $85, customers get their new pet with current vaccinations, a spay or neuter and a microchip.

All of the animals have been evaluated for temperament and are ready to go to a home with children and other animals.  Most of the animals range in age from six weeks to seven years old.

"The dogs that we have spend time in foster homes so they get along with other dogs," TPPS Adoption Counselor Rachel McLaughlin said.  "Most of the time, we know them, so we tell you their problems up front if they have any.  We work on potty training, their foster parents constantly work on house breaking and things like that."

Adoption times are 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays.
