AMARILLO, TEXAS -- In many places across the country, you'll find people who struggle with speaking English.
Here in Amarillo, there is a waiting list of people who want to learn, but the Amarillo Public Library is doing its best to improve that picture.
Starting next month, citizens who are interested in learning English as a Second Language will get their chance.
Registration is on the first and second, and classes will start on the sixth.
"We want to make sure people are able to talk to their children's teachers for example or I work in another program part time as well and one gentleman last night locked his keys in his car and could not get a lock service out because he didn't speak enough English to get them to understand what the problem was," said ESL Service Coordinator, Pat Mullin.
Mullin also told us students will learn the language through song and other fun ways to help them retain what they've learned.
