AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Amarillo Police are investigating the burglary of Swaff Autos on the corner of 27th and Kentucky.

Police say a suspect or suspects broke into the car lot, ransacked the building and found keys to the vehicles on the lot.

Seven cars were stolen and so far four have been recovered, one of which, a B.M.W. was found wrecked.

At this time police are still trying to identify the suspects.

"We've got people that have been known to steal cars in the past, not so sure this is really an auto-thief that's looking for cars to get to sell, or part out or whatever as it was more of a burglar looking for cash or something inside of the car lot and just happened to stumble across the keys," said Amarillo Police Corporal Jerry Neufeld.

Neufeld says they aren't sure the number of suspects or how many trips were made to retrieve all of the cars.

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact Amarillo Police.
